Who are considered staff?

Those who are being paid by the church to work on a full-time or part-time basis. The following people are our staff and raise their own support from individuals and churches in order to secure their monthly salaries.

krumfamsummer2010Robert Krumrey (lead pastor)

Robert cofounded MERCYhouse in September of 1999 (with Joe Green) and has been here ever since. He attended The University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor's degree in Cellular Biology - and better yet, met his wife Melanie. He then went on to receive a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary. While attending grad school, he served as a youthtwittericon minister (in Austin, TX) and a university minister (in Stillwater, OK) and has been lead pastor of MERCYhouse for the last 12 years. He and his wife have three kids: Kory, 16; Cooper, 14; and Kayla, 11. Lois GrandmaisonLois Grandmaison (associate staff)

Lois has been a central MERCYhouser since 2000. She received a bachelor's in education for the blind and then served at Pine Cove Camp in Tyler, TX. She then came to Amherst to work alongside the Krumreys in the planting of MERCYhouse. Her job description changes on a regular basis and has included everything from teaching to cleaning bathrooms. She currently serves the women of Smith College and also provides support for many MH activities. Cindy_staff_picCindy Pollsen (associate staff)

Cindy is a native of New York State and came to Massachusetts to attend UMass Amherst. She graduated with a degree in Art History and spent a year teaching English in France and another year working at a vet clinic in our area. Gregory Campeau (staff intern)

gregoryA native of the southern Sierras, Gregory graduated from nearby Amherst College with a BA in history in May 2011. He has been delighted to call MERCYhouse his spiritual home since coming to Christ in 2008. As an intern this year he will be serving and growing mainly as a teacher, small-group leader, and discipler. He will be focusing his ministry on the campustwittericon of Amherst College.  He hopes to attend seminary beginning the fall of 2012 to prepare further for full-time vocational ministry. Josh Merritt (staff intern)

joshJosh is an Arizona native who came here a year ago after serving as an intern with Invisible Children.  He plunged into MERCYhouse and soon became an integral part of the life of our church.  He has led Midweek groups and played in the worship band and is looking forward to a year internship.   He will be serving students at Hampshiretwittericon College as well as coordinating online communications and providing support for servant team leaders.  He'll also be making lattes as a barista at Starbucks in Amherst - so come by and say hello.  You can contact Josh at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
